2007年4月,早川吉彦が北見工業大学情報システム工学科に着任して,装いも新たにした研究室です。
Medical Image Processing Laboratory (officially
‘Recognition and Learning’
Laboratory) was renewed on April 2007 when Dr.
Yoshihiko Hayakawa was promoted
as an associated professor of Dept. of Computer
Science, Kitami Institute
of Technology.
研究室は「知能情報工学講座」(学科の先生方をふたつの講座に分けた場合。もうひとつは「情報数理工学講座」)に属し,名称は「認識と学習・研究室」とす
るべきであるようです。あるいは「パターン認識・研究室」と書かれている場合もあります。
When all faculties of the Department of Computer
Sciences were divided
into two groups, applied mathematics and
intelligent system engineering,
our laboratory belongs to the latter division.
Our laboratory should be
formally called as the Recognition and Learning
Laboratory. Sometimes other
name, the Pattern Recognition Laboratory, is
used.
5階の実験室の入り口には「パターン情報工学実験室」と書いてありますが,これは小講座制時代の名残の表示であると伺いました。少々混乱しているようで
す。
You can see the display of ‘Pattern Information
Engineering Laboratory’
at the entrance of our laboratory room on the
5th floor. This is the legacy
name when the department had the traditional
individual division system.
A bit of complication can be seen.
しかしながら,何をしようとしているのか,ということを端的に表せば,正式には使えないかもしれませんが「医用画像処理研究室」ということでいいかなと思
います。学生さんは張り切っていますので,「新・医用画像処理研究室」って書くかもしれませんが...お許しくださいませ。
However, in order to express what we want to
work at, namely concisely
related to our value and mission, the
appropriate name is the Medical Image
Processing Laboratory, even if we can not use it
officially. Since students
are getting an extra-hustle on starting
something new, they want to write
it as ‘New’ Medical Image Processing
Laboratory...please allow them...

Division as you can see the
University and Graduate School Guidance books.
We can not change the laboratory
name on our own decision.

とりあえず,原田康浩先生らによる「光工学研究室」のホームペイジのスタイルを身近な目標にして,楽しく作っていこうかと思います。当研究室における研究
活動,講義・実習や出来事などを提供していきたいと考えています。「コンテンツをどのように工夫したら多くの皆さんにみていただけるのだろう」と考えなが
ら,徐々に充実させていきたいと思います。よろしくお願い致します。
Meanwhile, we want to create the website of our laboratory as the quasi-(pseudo-)imitation
of the Optical Engineering Laboratory (OELab) maintained by Dr. Y. Harada,
Dr. Y. Sone, and students. Sorry, but it’s a good immediate target. We
want enjoy the building the website. Research activities, lectures and
exercises, and occasional affairs will be contents of our website. We want
to make rich the contents according to the strategy for getting a lot of
web-page viewers (explorers), by being academic with delight.
